The Glass Float Hunt is all about spreading joy, bringing people into local businesses, and celebrating everything that makes West Seattle the best Seattle!
Every glass float hidden in West Seattle is an invitation to discover a local business, try a new restaurant, visit a neighborhood you haven't explored, and keep your dollars in the local economy.
The West Seattle Glass Float Hunt is one of the Chamber's largest annual economic activation campaigns, turning exploration into direct support for the businesses that make West Seattle unique. These Handblown floats from Avalon Glassworks showcase the beauty of the PNW and how art uplifts communities.
Float Hunt Logistics: General rules of engagement for float hunters:
1. Please respect business operating hours and fellow float hunters. Do not disturb business operations while you search for a float. Businesses can't tell you if they have a float or not, so look around, shop and stay a while!
2. Each glass float comes with a unique QR code. When you discover one, scan the code right away to register your find, it confirms the float is off the hunt list and shares your exciting catch in real time.
3. Once you scan and register, the float is officially yours to keep. That’s it, all done!
4. If finders don’t register their float, it will continue to be “unfound” on the website.
5. Be respectful, adventurous and have fun!
6. Floats will be hidden in and around businesses as well as in public spaces, including many of West Seattle's gorgeous parks.
7. Floats are hidden daily, with clues being released after a Float has not been found.
8. Participation in the Float Hunt is at your own risk.

Many hunters discover businesses they've never visited before, and many come back after the Hunt is over.
Past Float Hunts have led participants to discover dozens of new local businesses while generating additional customer visits throughout the week. We have sold out of sponsorships for 2026. We'll see you hunting!
